The second contemporary issue, abortion, really does not effect my principles. When it comes to my religion, I don't think abortion is right, but there are reasons when I think abortion is needed. I do not think my principles need adjusting, I feel as though if the problem does not involve me then I do not have to have a say in it. I do agree with John Locke, and equality, but not when it comes to personal issues such as abortion. I don't think abortion should be illegal, but I don't think it should be used as frequently as birth control. Aristotle's position, living life to have the good life after death, is least consistent with my own principles. I live everyday to make myself, my family, and my friends happy NOW, while we are all living. Abortion is a decision that you have to make, that is going to effect you good life as you live, not when you're dead.

The first contemporary issue was cloning, and it did somewhat effect my persona principles. It did so, because I am a Christian, and making a baby any other way than a married couple having sexual intercourse is wrong. I personally think trying to clone a human would be a cool experiment, I would like to hear the outcome of that and see that child grow up, but me enjoying that experience would challenge my principles. When it came to Kass and Toeley, I agreed with points from both sides. I don't think it is the right thing to do, but i don't think it is the wrong thing to do either. Cloning a person to me, is just like that person having a baby, and what harm can that bring.

Personally, I find both Locke and Marx's Personal Morals compelling in some ways. I do not agree one hundred percent with both, but I do agree with some of each of their principles. As I said in my previous blog, I am a Christian. Christians are supposed to be caring, and put others before themselves. And majority of the time that is how I am. John Locke I believed every man should be equal, and that is how I feel as well. I partially believe in the fact that everyone should pay taxes, and even if you don't have kids you should still pay for schooling, but there are somethings I feel like a individual should not have to deal with, and that's when I begin to agree with Karl Marx. I believe as though I can live according to both, in different situations. There is a time to be selfish and there is a time to forget about yourself and help out others.

Personal Principles

As a Christian, I was always taught to put God first and family second. My family and pastor have taught me all of the principles that I use in my everyday life. I was taught to be a leader, not a follower. I have also learned to respect my elders and myself. I now think before I act and speak, because beforing doing so I did some things that upset my family and I never want to see them hurt nor upset and especially becuase of me. I live for God, my family and my self. I am not one to act a certain way to satisfy society. As long as I am happy with myself, that is all that matters.
